MORNING CAT

Oh, I love it!! That is so cute. The precious little kitty acts so sweet and innocent when we all know he's the diablo.gif

I've got three. One "does" the next-to-the-head-on-the-pillow routine (this also includes purring at supersonic levels). One sleeps on my feet and hugs my legs. He's taken many flying lessons (after my feet go numb). The other sleeps on my waist -- prefers the right side, but, will settle for the left side or the chest. No wonder I wake up so many times during the night dreaming that I can't breathe biggrin.gif

Thanks for sharing.

You have no idea Just Cuz what cat owners must go through for their beloved little tigers. rofl.gif
Cats no doubt are the best tamers! biggrin.gif
Just Cuz
I have SOME idea.

One of my old girlfriends had a cat.
Darned thing LOVED me.

It would always sleep on my chest when I spent the night.
But when it first got on the bed, it would creep up to my face and give me "kisses" while purring like a Mac Truck.

If I sat in a chair watching TV or whatever, it would lay on top of my right arm and lick me constantly.

Katinka
WOW! I have bad news JC. THAT cat REALLY loved you! rofl.gif
And above all you loved that cat, too ... secretly...deep down... Cause cats are very picky. They do NOT sleep on everbody's chest... just on those chosen ones'...

And above all you loved that cat, too ... secretly...deep down...

I thought it was funny/cute at first, but it became an annoyance.

Having her on my chest was like sleeping with a heating pad set on high.

Do you know that joke? (I try my best to translate!)

A guy keeps skunks and they sleep in his bed at his feet. His neighbour comes round and asks with an uncertain look on his face: "Not stinking?"
"Oh, yes they are! But the skunks got used to it!"
Just Cuz
Nope, hadn't heard that one before. mosking.gif

Katinka

That is so FUNNY .

I used to have a kitty, Sam who slept on my chest.

He would be very gentle in the morning touching my face with his paw BUT as soon as I peeked and ignored him ...he would sink his claws in to get me up NOW.

I SO miss him (he has been long gone but not forgotten).

Awe...that's a cute tabby.

I must confess...I had two "Sam" Siamese kitties (males)
before my last Sam .

The first , I adopted and he passed away; the other was bought
as a kitten. My father was so attached he wouldn't let me take him when
I moved thus I got my last Sam.

Then I adopted a sweetie tortoise-type and named her Samantha
but after she "christened" my sofa pillow (instead of her box), she
was called Stinker. pardon.gif

I have three cats, a black 16.5 year old boy called Jordan, a nearly 8 year old (her birthday is on the 10th November) little white girl called Nina, and one of her kittens (we saw him born on April Fools Day 5 years ago) a beautiful white and ginger boy called Tyler. Tyler has no brains but he is utterly gorgeous to look at (and he knows it )

This thread slowly, but surely turned into a "cat crazy" topic and I LOVE IT! Maybe we should ask JC to open a new place for us, cat owners, where we can rave about our little ones, share our stories and pics and move these cat related lovely stories over there.

Hey this is a great topic! Cats are wonderful creatures! There is never a boring moment with ten cats and two dogs at my house.. crazy.gif
Sunny sleeps on my pillow then on my chest, then He will wake me up licking my nose lol.gif punkin just rubs his face all over my face , Pepe nibbles my toes.if left exposed.. crazy.gif . Yiks! The rest of the cats seems to control thier love.. Starry follows me all over the yard meowing contantly, I pet her and she is fine, but when I go about my gardening there she goes into meowing again.. pardon.gif .

My chihuahua thinks she is a cat and plays with the cats more than she does my schnauzer..

I love the movie, that was so funny! :rofl:Thanks for sharing , both movies are great!

Cats Guide To Humans
1. Introduction: Why Do We Need Humans?

So you've decided to get yourself a human being. In doing so, you've joined the millions of other cats who have acquired these strange and often frustrating creatures. There will be any number of times, during the course of your association with humans, when you will wonder why you have bothered to grace them with your presence. What's so great about humans, anyway? Why not just hang around with other cats? Our greatest philosophers have struggled with this question for centuries, but the answer is actually rather simple:

THEY HAVE OPPOSABLE THUMBS.

Which makes them the perfect tools for such tasks as opening doors, getting the lids off of cat food cans, changing television stations and other activities that we, despite our other obvious advantages, find difficult to do ourselves.

True, chimps, orangutans and lemurs also have opposable thumbs, but they are nowhere as easy to train.

2. How And When to Get Your Human's Attention

Humans often erroneously assume that there are other, more important activities than taking care of your immediate needs, such as conducting business, spending time with their families or even sleeping.

Though this is dreadfully inconvenient, you can make this work to your advantage by pestering your human at the moment it is the busiest. It is usually so flustered that it will do whatever you want it to do, just to get you out of its hair. Not coincidentally, human teenagers follow this same practice.

Here are some tried and true methods of getting your human to do what you want: Sitting on paper: An oldie but a goodie. If a human has paper in front of it, chances are good it's something they assume is more important than you. They will often offer you a snack to lure you away. Establish your supremacy over this wood pulp product at every opportunity. This practice also works well with computer keyboards, remote controls, car keys and small children.

Waking your human at odd hours: A cat's "golden time" is between 3:30 and 4:30 in the morning. If you paw at your human's sleeping face during this time, you have a better than even chance that it will get up and, in an incoherent haze, do exactly what you want. You may actually have to scratch deep sleepers to get their attention; remember to vary the scratch site to keep the human from getting suspicious.

3. Punishing Your Human Being

Sometimes, despite your best training efforts, your human will stubbornly resist bending to your whim. In these extreme circumstances, you may have to punish your human. Obvious punishments, such as scratching furniture or eating household plants, are likely to backfire; the unsophisticated humans are likely to misinterpret the activities and then try to discipline YOU.

Instead, we offer these subtle but nonetheless effective alternatives: * Use the cat box during an important formal dinner.

* Stare impassively at your human while it is attempting a romantic interlude.

* Stand over an important piece of electronic equipment and feign a hairball attack.

* After your human has watched a particularly disturbing horror film, stand by the hall closet and then slowly back away, hissing and yowling.

* While your human is sleeping, lie on its face.

4. Rewarding Your Human: Should Your Gift Still Be Alive?

The cat world is divided over the etiquette of presenting humans with the thoughtful gift of a recently disemboweled animal. Some believe that humans prefer these gifts already dead, while others maintain that humans enjoy a slowly expiring cricket or rodent just as much as we do, given their jumpy and playful movements in picking the creatures up after they've been presented.

After much consideration of the human psyche, we recommend the following: cold blooded animals (large insects, frogs, lizards, garden snakes and the occasional earthworm) should be presented dead, while warm blooded animals (birds, rodents, your neighbor's Pomeranian) are better still living. When you see the expression on your human's face, you'll know it's worth it.

5. How Long Should You Keep Your Human?

You are only obligated to your human for one of your lives. The other eight are up to you. We recommend mixing and matching, though in the end, most humans (at least the ones that are worth living with) are pretty much the same. But what do you expect? They're humans, after all. Opposable thumbs will only take you so far.

For Cat Lovers.

An aquarium is just interactive television for cats.

Anything on the ground is a cat toy. Anything not there yet, will be.

At least dogs do what you tell them to do. Cats take a message and get back to you.

Buy a dog a toy and it will play with it for ever. Buy a cat a present and it will play with the wrapper for 10 minutes.

Cat's motto: No matter what you've done wrong, always try to make it look like the dog did it.

Cat rule #2: Bite the hand that won't feed you fast enough.

Cats are rather delicate creatures and they are subject to a good many ailments, but I never heard of one who suffered from insomnia.

Cats are smarter than dogs. You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow.

Cats don't hunt seals. They would if they knew what they were and where to find them. But they don't, so that's all right.

Cats instinctively know the exact moment their owners will wake up. Then they wake them 10 minutes sooner.

Cats know what we feel. They don't care, but they know.

Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

Dogs believe they are human. Cats believe they are God.

I had to get rid of my husband. The cat was allergic.

I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.

In a cat's eye, all things belong to cats.

On the Internet, nobody knows you're a cat.

One cat just leads to another.

People that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life.

Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil, and cruel. True, and they have many other fine qualities as well.

There are many intelligent species in the universe. They are all owned by cats.

When I wash the cat, it takes me hours to get the hair off my tongue.

You can always tell a cat, but you can't tell him much.

Yes...she was to weak at the end...not eating, not even drinking, lying absent-minded in her basket...it was such a torture the last days. Now she's in pet-heaven, without any pain.
Strange to say, Chico came to us just 4 weeks before Gipsy got sick. Maybe it sounds a bit crazy, but I think it didn't happen without cause...you know what I mean?

Yes, it's really really hard...and Gipsy wasn't the first. 1995 in may, I lost my dog (Harry, a German-Shepherd/Collie-Mix) because of a pulmonary embolism and in the same year in october my first cat (Chipie, a beautiful black-white lady) got oral cancer and had let her go.
