I really enjoyed looking at all your pictures. You can feel the happiness in them and then to top it all we have this gorgeous baby in a bath.

Thak you for sharing your stories and pictures, they are a blast to read and look at

Ohh sorry I missed this! Thank you so much Nina! friends.gif

Thank you all. give_rose.gif

I should get out there and take more pictures and up date everyone. The Llamas are doing very well. Relaxing a lot more. It's very very slow but I am noticing Rosy venturing closer and becoming more curious and Hover is allowing it.

He has not been groomed yet, but we have a plan of setting up ropes that lead to funneling him into tarps that funnel him into the stand to hold him place so he can then be sedated.

This evening I so wish we had a video camera! It was a hot day but it cooled down so nicely by early evening. The Dwarf goats got all silly and ran full speed around the pasture for fun. Well.. this got big 'Ol Hove feeling silly to so he tried to run and romp with them. The does and baby Bunny got scared and ran to hide, but Mr Man the billy goat decided it was time for a good manly wrestle. rofl.gif

So, 50Lbs Mr Man and 300Lbs Hover butted heads and tussled like teen age boys for almost a half an hour. rofl.gif If I thought Hover had an attitude, it is nothing compared to that billy goat!

Mr Man is never aggressive with anyone. Just a cuddle bug with me and good with the baby goats and kind to his does so seeing him take on his big buddy was impressive.

I don't know if anyone noticed the very old house in the middle of the pasture in the pictures? This week the Historical Society and the Mayor came by to asses it for restoration. It is the last standing house that was built by the coal minors who founded the town in the 1800's *I* think it is a treasure worth saving. It appears it was constructed on top of a log cabin base so it may be even older then that. I'll keep you posted on that too.

So happy to know you still have Rosie and Hover I was wondering about that for a while.

YESSS, we want pictures

I noticed the old "building", but did not realize it was an old house. Very interesting. Tell us more about it's history, when you know when it's been build.

Be careful with the Historical Society. Here when houses are classified as Historical the owner has a lot of rules/restrictions about the use and restoration of it.

Glad this topic is still alive

I'm so glad to hear that Rosy is conquering her fears and venturing closer. And I would love to have seen the battle between goat and llama - that's the stuff that epic poems can be made from.

Where we are, and in other locations in Canada, they have constructed entire towns, bringing buildings from different eras and locations around the province and restoring them. So you can walk down a street from the 1800s, complete with blacksmith, trading posts, etc. The next street would be from the turn of the century, then one from the 1910s, 1920s, and so on - each building complete with furnishings appropriate to the era and a person in the costume of the time to explain life at that particular moment in history. We bought our fireplace irons from the blacksmith just after he finished making them! Do they have anything similar where you are? It would be a wonderful place for your historical house to find a home and it could be enjoyed by so many people from all over the world, not to mention providing an insight into past days.

The grand baby is precious! I love this thread. I'm a farm girl at heart. My family is from Northern Indiana and owned a large working farm back 2 generations ago. My uncle still owns the old farmhouse and some acreage. So, I am living vicariously through your chronicles here. Thank you for sharing with us give_rose.gif

Oh, MotherGoose, you don't know how much I envy you right now! I love baby goats - they are the sweetest, most playful, most comical and most trusting creatures! There is a children's petting farm near here that I go to to get my baby goat fix - I don't care if the rest of the people in the pen with me are under eight years of age!

Twin bucks are nice to have, but I hope the other doe has girls!

You are welcome alyur. So good to see you. give_rose.gif

Thank you everyone! I am sorry each of you don't have your own baby goaties! They are a treasure! You are right DrD! I delight to watch. I am going to borrow a video camera from someone so I can film their antics.

I am betting the other doe delivers today, she is very close. yahoo.gif

Yes... we need does! We can keep the does but have to sell the bucks. That's always hard. We have two very fine Billy Goats and can have no more.
