![]() I looked closely at a clip of Charlie Chaplin's walk to give me inspiration for that kolobok. (He doesn't actually move his head like the kolobok, but it seemed to be the best way to get across the idea of the way he walked, since koloboks don't have legs! I forgot to upload my butterfly-fairy kolobok spreading fairy dust earlier: ![]() |

And... because it would be a pity to waste those wings, here is a rainbow butterfly:
![]() I will probably work more on this because at the moment there is only one expression on the butterfly's face. Here's the rainbow butterfly with some further working: ![]() This post has been edited by Almirena: Jul 16 2019, 05:23 AM |

Reny, you are so encouraging!
I have another butterfly - this time a crimson butterfly. ![]() Plus a butterfly in teal. ![]() (I'll think about some other butterflies for the future. For instance: glasswing butterfly (which would look stunning if I had it sitting on a flower so that the transparency of its wings would show clearly) spicebrush swallowtail with its glossy black wings featuring a radiant aqua section with pipings/dots of yellow sunset moth eighty-eight butterfly banded peacock butterfly Wallace's golden birdwing butterfly Also... I've edited my scarecrow to improve it. ![]() |

Have you ever been to a carnival or fair, where one of the stalls offered the Laughing Clowns game?
There would be several of these automated (coin-operated) clown heads solemnly and grotesquely turning to one side, and then back again, over and over, while the person playing would try to roll a ball into the wide open mouth of the clown so that the ball would roll down the correct lane. They always fascinated me, those inexorably turning clown heads with the gaping mouths! ![]() |

I'm working on the Queen of Spades (playing card) at the moment.
![]() Oh! I realised that this above court card is from a completely different set! So... I have managed to identify the set from which my Queen of Hearts kolobok came - it's the Empire State deck. I will make sure that the kolobok playing cards will all be based on the Empire State deck. But the kolobok versions will be Kolobok State deck playing cards. ![]() Completed version: Queen of Spades playing card (Kolobok State set) ![]() This post has been edited by Almirena: Jul 30 2019, 04:49 PM |

So would I, Reny... I wonder if it's possible to code a game like that.
Here's the first of my Kings. (It also reminds me that I didn't put any crowns on my Queens' heads; perhaps I should. A thinner crown than the king's crown, of course... Hmm. I'll think about it.) Traffic lights. ![]() This is good, but I think for the green light maybe a thumb up might be better instead of a nod? Hello, BradLee - it's good to see another Kolobok fan here, especially a fellow Australian.
Have you been creating any koloboks of late? The police koloboks presented a challenge. I learned through painful experience that those chequerboard designs are NOT simple to make. I'm glad you like the b&w Charlie Chaplin; I enjoyed working on that. Hmm... re the traffic light... that is definitely a point worth considering. A thumb's-up or even a beckoning gesture would work very well. The two One-Eyed Jacks... Hi Almirena,
I used to draw smileys. Koloboks and other styles. Sadly most of my time is taken up these days. And any little free time that I *do* have is spent working on my own website instead. I might get back to it one of these days though. -------------------- |
