Kolobok's smiles forums _ Off-topic _ What kind of work do you do?

Posted by: MarGinJoey Dec 7 2006, 02:00 AM

Just thought I'd bring a topic from my forum to Aiwans. drinks.gif

I'll start.
Information Technology officially, PC's to you.

I am a Microsoft certified crazy person. I work on everything from laptops and tablets to desktops and servers, scanners to network printers. I work in a large PHARMA company based in Berlin germany but here in the U.S.A.

My position at the moment is Senior Level blahblahblah something Technician... It means I'm the "hands-on" guy that everyone is always looking for. (Fortunately my time is split nicely between SLOTCARADDICTS forum, ALLTERRAINRIDERS forum, and KOLOBOKS! lol.gif )

OK, who's next?????

I am pharmacist and this is my job.
I have a non comercial site with about old silver roman coins, and I am Futbol Club Barcelona fan.

Of course Kolobok style smiley fan too. biggrin.gif .

КРоме колобков занимаюсь изготовлением дополнений к CRPG играм. У меня есть еще два сайта где я админ, поэтому в сети я часто и на долго smile.gif http://www.city-of-masters.ru/ http://www.wrg.ru/

hello,

my job is about marketing & communication (worked 20 years in advertising agencies, on the commercial side).

I started 3 years ago a small community site and forum dedicated to virtual sailing games (see links in my signature), which have grow, and I'm now working on a personal project trying to combinate my communications skills and my passion for sailing.

I used to be a Quality Control agent in a eyecare pharmaceuticals firm. Before that job and after that job I was a United States Postal Worker. I thought the pharmaceuticals job was going to be better than sorting mail, but it was not, so I went back to sorting mail and making lots more money doing that. lol.gif But I no longer work because of disability (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus and Fibromyalgia). I just had one of those translation tools go over Aiwan's posting crazy.gif

It seems to me, it's no use translating from Russion to German. nea.gif Russian to English works a bit better.

I didn't find out what OBGYN (Dooris) is, though sad.gif
I thought it meant gynaecologist, but it doesn't. Anyone have a clue?

Neither did I find out what конструйню means (Snoozer). cray.gif

I work as a freelance translator and interpreter. I mainly translate technical stuff like user manuals, specifications, workshop manuals etc. I also translate software (but not for Microsoft lol.gif ).
Sometimes the jobs I do are interesting, sometimes they are boring and sometimes they are a pain in the .... neck pardon.gif
I also interpret at court but I don't like that very much even though the money for interpreting is much better than for translating.

I am a Human Resources Advisor in a big teaching hospital in the UK. I deal with employment law and employment relations, sickness, performance and conduct issues etc. I have been doing this for the past 9.5 years and as from 25 June I'm seconded to a different area in the hospital to do some projects and look at training for managers for about six months. I am very much looking forward to it.

I review medical claims to see if they were processed correctly. I research to see if they should have been paid by another insurance company or by Medicare instead of by the insurance company that they were paid by. You know how if you have 2 different insurances and one of them is suppose to be your main insurance and the other one is simply a back-up that pays what the first insurance company didn't pay. That's what coordination of benefits is, it's determining how much each company was suppose to pay and who was suppose to pay the majority of the bill.

Did that make sense?

When I have a real permanent job, I am an executive assistant - but right now I have a temporary job as the departmental assistant for the Department of Surgery at a hospital here. It's a boring job, and not very good pay, but it gives me lots of time to play on the computer!

Hello~ I am called RiverDancer or River online. I am an avid reader, a good listener and I don't interrupt. I get bored easily. I recently stumbled into the smiley world in another fine Forum and am fascinated.

I retired early as Corporate Human Resources Director of an international mining company: I consult occasionally as a federally certified MSHA inspector and instructor. In my spare time I wade thru a maze of providers, private insurance and Medicare decisions.

I'd rather be dancing. yahoo.gif
