With all acknowledgements to the original creator (Dr Diesel, I believe?), here is a Girl version which took its inspiration from the Happy New Year kolobok.
Thank you The girls will be happy.
Almirena.... really nice
I am glad to add to the "Girls' Gallery" of Koloboks...!
I've a few more here - with all acknowledgement to their respective original inspirers:
<-- Girl examining the heavens through telescope
<-- Girl version of the "facepalm"
<-- Girl composer (or conductor) fixing wrong note
There was some problem with adding works to the gallery.
Aiwan, I'm sorry to hear that! I hope that whatever the problem is can be sorted out soon. (Is it something to do with the version of PHP on the server? Or the permission settings for the folder?)
<-- A girl physicist; all acknowledgement to Laie who created the wonderful original on which this is based (Einstein).
<-- Girl version of the Shakespeare kolobok (or poet or writer of any sort).
<-- Phlebotomist / Venepuncturist.
<-- It always struck me that the ideal way to present a kolobok on a magic carpet would be with the kolobok wearing a turban...
New - a gong. (The poor kolobok probably has his brains scrambled by the repeated whacking and swinging...)
I think you need to work on the smile. It's bad when the meaning needs to be described in words.
You're right; I'm hampered by my lack of drawing skill, I admit.
Hopefully this is better.
Here is an atom with electrons whizzing around:
A wooden spoon trophy. (In English-speaking cultures, the Wooden Spoon award is one given to the person or team who comes last!)
I don't know if you're aware that the national flag carrier airline of Australia (the third oldest airline in the world) is Qantas Airways. Qantas aeroplanes are instantly recognisable to any Australian, with the red and white colouring and the distinctive kangaroo design on the tail.
Here are the boy Kolobok and girl Kolobok Qantas Airbus aeroplanes.
I don't feel 100% happy about this Kolobok, but I do like the idea.
Girl version of Champagne Drinking:
Cellist (orchestral/classical cello) - with all acknowledgements to Laie's original jazz bass.
Nice, Almirena... I really like the Champagne drinking girl and the airoplane smilies.
Thank you, Reny!
I was especially pleased with the Qantas aeroplane smilies.
A few more:
Girl version of falling asleep in an armchair:
Girl version of "It's HIS/HER fault!":
Girl version of Sherlock Holmes / private investigator:
Scales (also could be used for Libra):
(I'm not entirely happy with the mouths in the scales kolobok. I also don't like the look of the ribbons; they somehow look like a shower cap.)
2nd version of the scales / Libra:
Girl version of Laie's wonderful galloping horserider with lance:
Girl version of Laie's equally wonderful horserider taking a toss from a horse determined not to be ridden:
Girl version of Laie's accordionist:
Girl version of Kolobok taking medication/pills/tablets:
Kolobok driving blue car:
Girl version of Kolobok driving blue car:
Nice new smileys, Almirena I really like your girl versions. And the traffic lights!
Thank you for the encouragement! <--- one of my favourite koloboks; it expresses acknowledging thanks so gracefully and gorgeously...
I'm currently working on a complicated kolobok which is truly like a mini-drama episode.
I hope this kolobok conveys the story properly; it is a defibrillation (getting the heart re-started).
Good job! But for the future, I would advise you to avoid complex small drawings in smileys. I'm talking about the heart, for example. It can be designated schematically and it will be more correct from the point of view of stylistics and realization of the conceived. We are waiting for new works.
Aiwan, I had exactly the same thought about that heart. I have four other versions with different heart styles.
One of my attempts has the heart looking a little like a roast chicken - ai, ai, ai! Another looks a little like a Valentine cushion in the shape of a heart. The third... well, I can't help thinking that this heart looks a bit like a red Santa sack full of toys.
Anyway, I'll upload them here, and will be happy for any advice or for your suggestions about which version is most successful. (I also played around a little with the "shock".)
I will keep trying different heart ideas. And I think I'll go back to the first "shock" version as well.
In the meantime, I think I will do a circus set.
I think this is a better version for the defibrillation. The "Valentine cushion" heart was a nice clear image, and after a bit of fiddling around with a nice sinus rhythm on it, it seems to have worked out well.
Yes, the heart is much better now.
And such a nice circus set
Girl version of the wine drinker:
Girl version of the gaoled prisoner:
(Also Aiwan's incredibly touching weeping girl in gaol, if you do not mind, Aiwan... I think that girl kolobok is outstanding in its verisimilitude.):
More for the circus set...
Circus elephant rearing up.
Circus lion jumping through fiery hoop.
I have another kolobok for the circus set; however, it's almost 300K and I can't reduce the file size any further without compromising the quality of the kolobok presentation...
It's a circus high-wire trapeze act.
Is it possible to increase the maximum single upload size to 300K?
(In the meantime, I've linked the image.)
Larger / longer version:
A quick break from the circus set - to present the moon waxing and waning...
I'm not sure whether I should enlarge the black area; it looks a little odd as a black rectangle. Any ideas welcomed.
Version 2: Waxing and waning moon.
And with the moon actually kolobok-based:
Celebrating France's World Cup win, here is the French flag (boy and girl version) based on Laie's flags:
And... although Australia did abysmally in the FIFA World Cup, here's the Australia flag as well:
More flags to celebrate FIFA, international peace (hopefully), and more:
Argentina Belgium Brazil China
Colombia Costa Rica Croatia Denmark
Egypt Finland Guatemala Iceland
Indonesia Iran Ireland Israel
Japan Morocco The Netherlands Nigeria
Panama Peru Portugal Saudi Arabia
Scotland Senegal Serbia The Seychelles
South Korea Suriname Sweden Thailand
Tunisia Ukraine Uruguay Vietnam

You are so busy, Almirena
All the nice flags
I like the trapez act very much.... and the grammophone idea
Am I correct in saying you are in Cologne, Germany? Here's the Kolobok flag for Cologne.
I've also made a Berlin version (my mother was born in East Berlin). The bear is very hard to draw with so few pixels!
I love collecting antique gramophones, and old 78s of Melba and Caruso. (Partly because I am a classical singer, amongst other things, but also just because I have the collecting bug.) That inspired the recording kolobok.
I am thinking of possibly doing a kolobok CD, but I don't know if it will work out the way I want it to.
I've also done another for the circus set. It's the circus strongman lifting two girl acrobats.
The coat of arms on the Köln (Cologne) flag is tricky to do in miniature. I'm so glad you like it. And... shall we call each other "du"? - (moving from the formal "you" to the informal/less formal or intimate form of "you").
It was a surprise to me when I first tried creating the chequerboard pattern (for the coat of arms), that one can't simply put one block colour next to another block colour, in single pixels, to recreate that pattern. It just doesn't render properly to the naked eye. I saw this when trying to draw the coat of arms in the Croatian flag!
I am so grateful that many people with an excellent ability to draw (particularly in miniature) have created some wonderful koloboks. I examine what they have done, how they achieved the effects that they have, what sort of shading they use, how they offset the effect of certain colours to create an illusion when one looks at the final result at 100%. It is such a revelation! I try to learn from their experience, and I bow to the inspiration of Aiwan in particular, as well as others such as Laie and Connie and Viannen (for instance) who have carried on within the framework of Aiwan's style.
Where are all of those wonderful graphic designer people now? It is hard to believe that they are no longer still drawing koloboks.
Almirena, (natürlich können wir uns duzen.)
I really appreciate your work in drawing the Cologne weapon, it is very well done....and your other work, too
And I am looking forward to the Croation flag, this will not be easy.
Yes, it is very quiet here after this many years of creative work. So sad...but I think they are not longer drawing koloboks.
Croatian flag is one I'd already done:
I am temporarily unable to do any more koloboks; I've just had hand surgery! (Maybe I can do a little more further work on a kolobok I started a few days ago, but I will have to try with my left hand. It's a Thomas the Tank Engine kolobok.)
Almirena, the Croation flag looks really great.
I am sorry you've had a hand surgery and I wish you a speedy recovery.
My hand is still painful! (And the wound itself is swollen, but at least it's not infected.)
My doctor has said firmly, "Don't use your right hand until the stitches come out, and then, very little use (just finger exercises) for months."
So... Kolobok-drawing is on hold. (Also, emailing is hard; I have to reply to client emails but it is so slow typing with my left hand only. I am constantly temped to use my right hand and have to stop myself.)
Once I've recovered, I am going to draw a kolobok with its hand in a sling!
Almirena, it seems you have to be patient. Furthermore lots of luck for your hand, one day you will have recovered and make many wonderful koloboks.
Hello! How much I missed!
I returned for a long vacation and ... I leave for work Almirena, recover and as soon as recover, immediately sit down to draw koloboks, otherwise they will not let you live peacefully within you.
Hello Aiwan... welcome back
