im not sure who is all in the path of Hurricane Dean i think 'ImJustMe' is.....altho i know its a few days out from him if it comes his direction
but i just wanted to give a shout out to the ones in Dean's path to be safe and let us know you are ok as soon as Dean passes
ive been thru a few hurricanes living in FLorida so i know what it takes to prepare for one.. but i think if i was in Dean's path i would head north.. at Cat 4 is very scary

Oh, My God! IAMJUSTME, my friend! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!!! Please, let us know what is happening around you!

We usually we get online at the same time. It is late in the evening for him, early morning for me. He should be here by now!

If you are coming later, Iamjustme, leave us a note please!

We don't have hurricanes here in Europe, so I only have "experiences" from the news, from documentaries and such, but I am sure it must be nervracking! My heart is with all of you who is possibly involved in this horrible event and pray for you!

Thank you, dear Sissi for telling us the sad and disturbing news!

Thanks for your wishes my friends. Yes indeed, it seems this one is gonna hits us, just like Wilma hurricane did in Oct. 2005... Isn't a good experience, believe me!

By now, we're preparing ourselves to receive it. Authorities are giving us indications every six hours, but will be more frequent while the hurricane will approach...

I'll try to be in touch as much as I can. My family and I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

I found this neat tool for keeping tabs on Altlantic/Gulf hurricanes:
It has both online and downloadable versions.

Maybe it'll be useful to IAJM or anyone else who lives in areas affected by these storms.

this is a great tool...believe me when living in the tropics like we do you learn these cool tools... good.gif
and you watch the weather on TV very closely....
i will take a hurricane over a tornado anyday tho... a hurricane you have plenty of warning to get out of its way..days even weeks sometimes....with a tornado you only have minutes if that sometime...

imjustme, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayer ... just keep us posted on how things are the best you can...

are you planning on leaving your area???

I know it is a silly question, but for me it is so scary and so unbelievable. How can you prepare for such a mad weather condition?
So nice to see you, btw! How is the situation over there?

Thanks my friend. Well, we're prepared as much as we can do it. I mean, we already have enough food, drinkable and non-drinkable water, batteries, a radio, flashlights... On the other hand, tomorrow we will fasten tight the water and gas deposits and protect windows and doors with wood...

I can feel your concern, this is very serious; I must confess that I'm very nervous, although we don't know exactly if will hit us. However, all precautions are worthy. As I mentioned before, authorities are giving us updates and indications.

This is a recent satellite images of Dean...

This is the latest info for now. I will share any changes as much as I could.

Fortunately, our community have learned through the years a lot of things about hurricans and how to be aware of them. Thanks God, we stick together helping us each other; we're united on this!

It's me, running away from Hurricane Dean!

So good to know and experience when it comes to real tragedy and difficulty people CAN stick together and help. friends.gif

My Dad was a miner moil.gif and I experienced when tragedy happened (sadly many times) how people forgot their silly behaviour and get together to help each out! smile.gif

Thanks God, Dean is gone now. As you surely know, didn't hit us directly... we were only under lots of water and strong winds. The major damage is located in the south of Quintana Roo's State, which was the point of landing.

Thanks a lot to everyone for your thoughts and prayers my friends. My family and I appreciate it a lot. God bless you all!
