Aiwan, I'm sorry to hear that! I hope that whatever the problem is can be sorted out soon. (Is it something to do with the version of PHP on the server? Or the permission settings for the folder?)

Attached Image <-- Girl version of the Shakespeare kolobok (or poet or writer of any sort).

I am glad to add to the "Girls' Gallery" of Koloboks...!

I've a few more here - with all acknowledgement to their respective original inspirers:

With all acknowledgements to the original creator (Dr Diesel, I believe?), here is a Girl version which took its inspiration from the Happy New Year kolobok.

For all those who like a touch of gothic, and who have bewailed the lack of a female vampire Kolobok, languish no longer.

(Again, subject to original creator approval.)

I was discussing the novella "Carmilla" with a few friends, and found I had no female vampire emoticon. Well! I thought it might be a good opportunity for a Kolobok vampiress in pigtails.

Thank you ladyinthemists! I have not been here for awhile. I have so much difficulty navigating and finding my own posts and information.

However through Aiwan's post history (responses to my question) your "girl giving a rose." I HOPE you see this message and my sincere heartfelt thank-you for this cute smiley. Thank you for your help.

It appears that our Admin leader has closed this forum site (I think)???
Thistle

I also found two others. I think the artists is/was a member here. I wish to thank her as well.

Has anyone made any St. Patrick's Day smilies? If so, where could they be found?

I know it's a year late, but these are two emoticons kolobok-style that I use for St Patrick's day.

I have another kolobok emoticon to add (subject to original creator approval, of course).

It is a girl version of the superhero.

As I'm on a special diet (health reasons) at the moment, I was "inspired" to create a cauliflower type of kolobok.

Here is also a lady chef standing in front of an oven. I didn't leave enough room on the left hand side for the full pigtail, darn it! So I will have to fix that at some point... (And I've got to fix up some extra red pixels for the oven.)

Laie, you are greatly gifted. Those koloboks of yours have the same quality of innocence, charm and meaning which Aiwan's originals display.

(I love your work, and Aiwan's work, and if I could, I would "do a Vetinari" - as per Terry Pratchett's Discworld character with Leonard of Quirm - to have you creating more and more of these adorable koloboks.)

I have been getting sidetracked with other experimentation of kolobok-making.

Still working on the hands for the crossing-fingers emoticon...

Laie, hello - I am a recent member who is more of an admirer than a maker of these gorgeous koloboks.

The wine taster kolobok is beautiful.

Could I make one suggestion to improve it even more? Wine tasters tend to smell the wine before drinking it, and the reaction (if it's a good wine) is one of anticipatory bliss. So the kolobok would hold the glass to his nose, sniff delicately, close his eyes and breathe in deeply, and a little smile would appear on his face - before he actually drinks the wine.

Looking at the hands again, they do just look wrong - not so much on their own, but in association with the cute Kolobok.

The wrongness has to do with the hands not giving that same impression of innocent cuteness.

Aaagh! I need to create cute charming clean crossed fingers. Back to the drawing board. I need to save space in the height somehow, while STILL conveying the impression of two fingers folded over the palm, two fingers almost upright and crossed, and one thumb standing apart from the rest.

After more editing and frustration and thinking I can't do it... this is the result of the little kolobok crossing his fingers and wishing...

I think it's better than it was...

Oh, MotherGoose! Thank you for your kind generosity.

I wish I'd seen your cute version before I knocked myself out trying to achieve the fingers. Your version is much cleaner.

Fig the birds? I'm lost! It's not an expression with which I'm familiar... Does it mean something about "Haw haw haw, look at that flash hot woman walking by!"?

I can see I've got a bit of work to do on this. The two crossed fingers need to be much more obvious, and the rest of the fingers are bent over so that the contrast between short and long is very clear. And I should have him looking up and squinting/closing his eyes in hopefulness.

This is hard to you... What a challenge!

Thank you - I am honoured to find the conversions in the gallery!

Here is my attempt at a "fingers crossed" emoticon. The little Kolobok figure is worried (on his own behalf or on someone else's) and is crossing his fingers for good luck.

Oops.

I suppose I can't get away with claiming his hat is being held in place by an invisible parrot, hmm?

I will have to fix that.

FIXED - the hat is now cocked as the head moves.

( Naughty hat! Do I have to do everything for you? )

Aiwan, I wish I could - but I am very very poor at drawing.

Once, when I was trying to paint a watercolour of a pine tree in our garden, my sister said, "Why are you drawing a green mitten?"

That will give you some idea of my 'talent'...!

If I could, I would create some singing koloboks. One singing Lieder (German art song), one singing opera (not Wagner - Mozart or bel canto or similar!), perhaps a boy+girl singing an operatic duet... From this you might guess I'm an opera singer and am passionate about music. But I know I am not nearly good enough at drawing to create such koloboks.

But perhaps if I work at a few conversions and minor editing, I may gain a bit of confidence...? I don't know. I just think it's not really confidence that is missing, but ability. I can't draw, and I greatly admire those who do have that ability!

I have converted the kolobok of two drinking buddies into a two-captains version. I hope the original creator of the drinking buddies kolobok does not mind.

To edit such information, ideally you would want to include the copyright on the footer of each page...

You would log in to the Admin section of your forum, go to the template folder of your forum's style, and select the file overall_footer.htm, which you can then edit with something like the following:

CODE
Smilies: Copyright (с) Aiwan. <a href="http://www.kolobok.us">Kolobok smiles</a>

I don't use phpbb3 myself, so I'm not sure of the name of the file for the Smilies pop-up, but if you do just want to add the copyright information to that pop-up, ask in the phpBB forum (http://www.phpbb.com/community/index.php).

I hope that helps.

I noticed that several requests had been made for a girl giving sympathy and comfort to another girl. The most touching and beautiful emoticon for empathy must surely be yours, Aiwan, so I have converted it to a girls' version (with all due admiration for the INCREDIBLE amount of work you put into the original, which is utterly beautiful).

I hope that is all right. Some of the pixels are a bit messy in this version, unlike the beautiful clean original. I also made the second girl's smile a little less cheerful, to emphasize that the second girl is not just trying to comfort the first girl, but is also sharing her pain.

I am only too happy to have it available for others!

Спасибо за комплимент. Тем не менее, вы и другие артисты здесь, которые должны быть похвалой.
Ваш "Колобок" смайликов сладко прелесть!
