Uhm, I didn't read this topic before, but I had a few other things [as in more than 1 ] on my "To Do"-list. smile.gif
I want to be honest - losing Sting is a devastating blow for me.
Every morning I cry my eye balls out when I realize there is noone to get out of bed for and every night I cry because of the emptiness of the day and when I realize that tomorrow will be more of the same.
But there is another thing that I have to beat. The real time doc isn't all too pleased with the performance of my pacemaker and said that if I wanted to life a bit longer he have to replace the pacemaker with an ICD.
That is Heavy Sh*t and to think I have to face this without my buddy Sting only makes it heavier.

So reading this topic made my day and I thank you for that. good.gif

That beer and candles is the way to celebrate for sure.

Losing Sting must have been an enormous blow, although he was going to ritre, him passing is not the way to having to say goodbye.

Let's get this pacemaker stuff out of the way, and get you back to what you should be (including an Ajax fan ). You will be fine and right as rain after your new pace maker, and you will get a new help dog, and although it won't be Sting, you'll will start loving the new dog too. Sting will always be in your heart (and... he has his own gif named after him )

Oh, Doc ... friends.gif You really do get more than your share of trials, don't you. I salute and admire your strength and your courage. give_rose.gif
I know it's small comfort (if any), but my beloved big brother is facing the same thing. He was diagnosed with idiopathic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy at age seven. He's been through the medical treadmill; been a guinea pig; has had ECGs, catheders, halter monitors and goodness knows what else, and now they're talking ICD. He hasn't yet decided whether to go ahead - he's too busy living his life. He is the best big brother any little girl could ever have; he is my hero, and the reason why I decided to go into medicine.
You remind me of him - especially your tongue-in-cheek humour - and I sincerely wish you the very best. You are in my thoughts.

thank you all for the words of comfort. I kinda needed that

@Viannen: Why shouldn't he go on with ICD with such a gorgeous fan that draws him a Zapp-Kolobok [bigbrother.gif?] smile.gif Just kidding. [Maybe an other kolobok-idea - just to get even with me - a crying kolobok that pops his eye balls out and call it doc.gif or ernst.gif]
I wish him the best of luck and remember ... Life's a blast biggrin.gif I will prove that [well not too often I hope]
